Creating a future for a great
concert hall
 |
Watford Musical Heritage has been established to
help create a future for one of the world's finest halls for musical
performance, the building known since 1995 as Watford Colosseum and
previously as Watford Town Hall or Watford Assembly Rooms. |
 |
A concert hall loved by
generations of concertgoers, it is also one of
the most favoured
recording venues in the music industry with a history of great recordings from
classical orchestral music and opera to film and tv scores,
performances given in the hall
are known all over
the world. |
 |
The hall is ideally located to be established
as a major regional arts centre - an estimated 4m people live or work within 30 minutes travelling time
and the location near the M25 with mainline and underground rail services makes
the hall easily accessed from a huge area. |
 |
The possibilities for an educational and
performance resource such as this hall could become are nearly endless
and the consequent potential for producing artistic inspiration - and the
ensuing economic benefits - is
priceless. |
 |
It is a great opportunity and all it needs to become a reality is public
support - and a lot of money! |
